Privacy Policy
Your data, handled with care.
TheomareDesigns ("we", "our", "the studio") is a UK-based small business. This page explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who else handles it, and the rights you have under UK GDPR.
What we collect
- Order information — your name, email address, shipping address (for paperback orders), and payment confirmation. We do not see or store your full card details — payment is handled by Shopify Payments.
- Account information — if you create a customer account, we store your email and order history.
- Communications — if you email us, we keep that thread so we can serve you properly.
- Anonymised analytics — Shopify's built-in analytics tells us how the store is performing (page views, conversion rate, etc) without identifying individuals.
How we use it
- To fulfil your order — sending PDFs, dispatching paperbacks, responding to support questions.
- To send order-status emails (confirmation, dispatch, delivery).
- To send marketing emails — only if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every marketing email.
- To investigate and resolve any issues, returns, or disputes.
Who else handles it
- Shopify — our store platform (UK + US-based servers). Their privacy policy: shopify.com/legal/privacy
- Shopify Payments / Stripe / PayPal — payment processing. We never see your card number.
- Printify — print-on-demand provider for paperback orders. Receives your shipping address only.
- Royal Mail / DHL / USPS / equivalent — couriers for paperback delivery.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing.
Cookies
Our store uses standard Shopify cookies for cart, session, and basic analytics. If you accept marketing cookies (via the consent banner), additional cookies may be set for ad-platform integrations. You can manage cookie preferences via your browser or the cookie banner.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations, e.g. tax records)
- Request data portability — receive your data in a structured format
- Object to marketing
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
To exercise any of these rights, email us via our contact page with the subject line "Data Request". We respond within one calendar month (as required by UK GDPR Article 12).
Data retention
Order records are retained for 6 years to meet HMRC accounting and tax requirements (the standard UK retention period for VAT and business records). Marketing-list data is retained only as long as you're subscribed.
Data controller
The data controller for the personal information we collect is TheomareDesigns, a UK-based small business. Contact us via the contact page for any data-protection queries.
Analytics & marketing tools
The store uses:
- Shopify Analytics (built-in) — anonymised page views, conversion rates, traffic sources.
- Google Analytics / Meta Pixel (only if active and only after marketing-cookie consent) — these tools may use cookies to attribute purchases to ad campaigns. You can disable them via the cookie banner.
- Email marketing platform (Shopify Email or similar) — used only for subscribers who have opted in.
Current active tools may change over time. Your consent preferences (set via our cookie banner) are always respected.
Children's privacy
Although Nujoom Printables products are designed for use with children ages 4–10, the store is intended for parents and guardians to make purchases. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. We do not collect any information about the child the workbook is for — only the purchasing adult's contact and shipping details.
Filing a complaint
If you believe we have mishandled your personal data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
