Refunds

Refunds, returns, and exchanges.

We want you to be happy with what you buy. Each format has different rules under UK consumer law — here's exactly how we handle each.

Printed paperback (POD)

  • Return window: 30 days from delivery
  • Condition: Unused, original packaging, resaleable
  • Return shipping: Customer pays return postage unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect
  • Refund timing: Issued within 14 days of us receiving the returned item

Digital downloads (PDFs)

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, digital content that begins downloading immediately after purchase is exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off period, provided you consented to that immediate access at checkout (which Shopify Digital Downloads does).

In practice:

  • If you haven't downloaded the file yet, email us within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund.
  • Once you've accessed the file (clicked the download link), refunds aren't available.
  • If the file itself is faulty (broken, wrong content, doesn't open), email us — under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you're entitled to repair or replacement first, with price reduction or full refund available if we can't resolve the issue.

Bundles (paperback + PDF)

Each component is treated under its own rules above. If you return the paperback portion of a bundle within 30 days, we refund the paperback's value; the PDF portion remains non-refundable if it's been accessed. If neither has been accessed/used, the full bundle is refundable within 14 days of purchase.

Damaged or incorrect items

Where possible, photograph the issue + packaging within 48 hours of delivery and email us — clear evidence helps us resolve faster. This timing is a request, not a limit on your statutory rights. We'll arrange a replacement or full refund at our cost — no return shipping required from you.

How to request a refund or return

  1. Email us via the contact page with subject line "Refund" or "Return"
  2. Include your order number and the reason
  3. For paperback returns: we'll provide a return address. For digital: we'll confirm refund eligibility and process it.
  4. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
Your statutory rights are not affected. Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
